Answer:

Resistance of a conductor is a property by thw virtue of which current flow through the conductor is resisted .

It depends on the following factors :

  • Resistivity of the material
  • Length of conductor
  • Area of cross section

Mathematically we can say :

 \boxed{ \red{ \sf{R =  \rho  \bigg\{ \dfrac{l}{a}  \bigg \}}}}

Resistivity is a materialistic property which is defined as follows :

  • It is numerically equal to the resistance for a conductor of unit length and unit cross section area.

SI unit of Resistivity is : ohm - m

Mathematically denoted as :

 \boxed{ \blue{ \bold{ SI \: Unit \implies \Omega \: m}}}

Resistance Is directly proportional to length and inversely proportional to cross sectional area.

It Also depends on nature of material.

Resistivity is a measure of the resistance of a given size of a specific material to electrical conduction.
