Living in Bengaluru, Onam has always been a grand celebration for actress Reba Monica John and family. While they used to ring in the festival with their family friends, this year as a precautionary measure against Covid-19, the family has decided to keep the celebrations simple.
“Everybody has been saying, ‘What celebrations during the time of corona?’ But I am like, it’s not like the last two years when the State was severely affected by floods; so we have to celebrate it. That’s why we decided to make it an intimate family affair, by decorating the house, preparing simple pookalams and cooking sadya together,” she says, quoting the adage “ullathu kondu Onam pole”.
