Magadha was the most powerful monarchical mahajanapada from 600-400 BCE .comprised the area of present bihar and jharkhand. the first rular of Magadha was bimbisara (544-493) he was the founder of haryanka Dynasty he was succeeded by his son Ajatshatru . Ajatshatru (493-461) he is known as the cruel king. He tried to suppress the rise of Buddhism and Jainism.The capital is vaishali located in modern-day Bihar.
