One fine day, he called all his sons and asked the eldest one to bring a bundle of sticks. When the sticks were brought the farmer asked them to break those bundle of sticks one by one.First the eldest son was asked to break those sticks, but he failed. Then in the same way the sticks were asked to be broken by the other three sons but all of them failed.

Then the farmer gave one stick to each of them. They were easily able to break them. Then the farmer politely called his four sons towards him and he told them a sour truth that they were not able to break the bundle of sticks because they were not one,whereas when they were asked to break a single stick,they were all able to break it. This was because a person with unity cannot be harmed by any one.

The people find many ways to harm someone when they are alone.

On hearing this, the four sons promised never to fight again and lived happily ever after.
