Kind King
Once upon a time there was a king who was very kind and generous. People in his kingdom were very happy and prosperous. Often he would disguise himself and go among people to know the state of affairs first-hand. He felt very happy that all the people in his kingdom were leading a happy life. They had all they needed to live happily.
Once he decided to go to a distant village to find the state of people living there. He reached there disguised as a fruit seller. As he reached the village market, he found a crowd of people; a few of the royal guards were also there. They were holding a poor looking young man; he had been handcuffed. He also edged closer to the crowd. From a man standing there he asked, “What has happened here? Why is the young man in chains?”
“He was caught red-handed stealing fruit from the King’s garden!”, replied the man, “He is being taken to the King’s court for punishment!”
Hearing this, the king rushed to the guards and said, “I your King order you to the free the young man immediately.” With this he took off his false beard and ordinary clothes. The people were wonderstruck! He further ordered his guards, “Give this young man 12 baskets full of different fruits. No one should feel the temptation of stealing.”
The young man felt exceedingly happy and thanked the King. People felt proud of their King.On the banks of Yamuna ,there stood a kingdom called Rizwar . It was a kingdom of Happiness. The king was a generous and responsible man.
Once, The neighbouring king wanted to test the nature of his friend. He sends a poor fellow in the kingdom of rizwar.
The poor goes to the garden of kings. He was so hungry that he started plucking the fruits .
The guards observe this, and takes him to the court. The king was then attending a play by a famous poet.
The guards had no dareto interrupt, and they stood by. The poor fellow was hand tied and in tears.
The king observes the tears of the poor fellow, and inquires the guards regarding the case. Then he realised that The man was poor.
The court pauses for a while and then king orders to give the man a bunch of fruits and a stack of money.
This made the king realise that his kingdom still has people who starve. He asks his ministers to reach such and feed them.
Thus ,The neighbouring king understands the kindness of the king, and gifts the king a diamond ring as a sign of friendship.
