In 1 1/4 hours = 75 minutes snow falls = 10 inches.

In 1 minute amount of snow which fell =  \frac{10}{75}

IN 1 hour = 60 minutes, snow fell =  \frac{10}{75} * 60 = 8 inches

Hopefully it helped.
