A boy goes to school with the speed of 3 km/h and returns with the speed of 2 km/h. If he takes 5 hours in all, then what is the distance (in kilometres) between the village and school?

Let , the distance between the school and the village be X km

Time taken by the boy the reach the school=(distance ÷ speed)=X/3 h

Time taken by boy to come back to the village=(distance ÷time)=X/2 h

We know ,X/3h + X/2h=5h

(Lcm of 3 and 2 in 6)

Hence,(3X +2X)/6=5

5X/6=5

5X=6×5=30

5X=30

X= 30/5 =6

Hence ,the distance between the village and the school is 6 Km

Here is your answer:-

Distance travelled in 1 hour = 3km

Given time=20hrs

So, distance travelled in 20hrs = 3×20km= 60km

Hence the correct answer is 60km

Have a good day ♥️
