Given :  One card is drawn from a well shuffled Deck of 52 playing cards.

Total number of outcomes = 52

Total number of face cards are 12.

Number of non face card = 52 - 12 = 40

(i) Let E = Event of getting a non face card

Number of non face card = 40

Number of favourable outcomes to E = 40

Required probability P(E) = Number of favourable outcomes / total number of outcomes

P(E) = 40/52 = 10/13

Hence, the probability of getting a non face card, P(E) = 10/13 .
