The potential energy is given by following formula:

  • Acceleration due to gravity and height is same for both the balls. Therefore, the cricket ball will have more energy than the plastic ball.
  • If a resistance and other factors were neglected, the time taken by the balls to reach the ground could be the same.

            \text { Energy }=\frac{\text { Work done }}{\text { Time }}

  • As time is same, the ball which has less work they would have lesser energy. Hence, plastic ball would have lesser energy than the cricket ball.
