It should be 50 human beings and 24 horses.
No of heads = 50 human heads +24 horse heads=74
No of legs = 50 x 2 =100 human legs
               = 24 x 4 = 96 horse legs
= 196 legs. How is it?

there can be 50 humans and 24 horses as the total head = 74
and total legs = 2x50 + 4x24= 100 + 96 =196
