Answer

Let the shella get x shells

➠ so \: sunita \: got \:  =  \frac{x}{2}  \\ ➠ \: so \: sandy \: got \:  =  \frac{x}{2}  - 5

Given That,

➠ \: x +  \frac{x}{2}  - 5  = 16\\ ➠ \:  \frac{3x}{2}  = 21 \\ ➠ \: 3x = 42 \\ ➠   \: x =  \frac{42}{3}  \\ ➠ \: x = 14

Hence, So they got 14,7,2

Shells.

❍let the number of sea sheels found by Sandy be "x".

So,the number of sea shells found by Anita = (x+ 5)

The number of sea shells found by shella = 2(x + 5)

{\underline{\boldsymbol{\pink{According~ to~ the~ question~ :}}}}

\sf{x+2(x+5)=16}

\\

\sf{x+2x+10=16}

\\

\sf{3x+10=16}

\\

Subtracting 10 from both sides,we get

\sf{3x+10-10=16-10}

\\

\sf{3x=6}

\\

Dividing both sides by 3,we get

\sf{3x/3=6/3}

\\

\sf{x=2}

\\

Thus,

\blue\bulletThe number of sea shells found by sandy = x = 2.

\blue\bulletThe number of sea shells found by Anita = x + 5 = 2 + 5 = 7.

\blue\bulletThe number of sea shells found by shella = 2(x + 5) = 2(2+5) = 2(7) = 14.
