Total heads = 41

ie No. of humans + no. of elephants = 41

Let no. of humans be x.

Then no. of elephants = 41 - x

Legs in humans = 2

Legs in elephants = 4

Total legs = 136

So, 2x + 4(41 - x) = 136

=> 2x + 164 - 4x = 136

=> -2x = -28

=> x = 14

Therefore,

No. of humans = x = 14

No. of elephants = 41 - x = 41 - 14 = 27
