One day in the life of my mother at home essay.

Explanation:

  • So this one time I got a chance to spend one day in my mother's life at my home all day long.

  • I thought it will be an easy thing as I won't have anyone to boss me around and I will be the boss of the house.

  • Well, it did not go as I imagined it.

  • I had to wake up early to make breakfast for everyone at home.

  • After everyone left I washed dishes and cleaned the house.

  • After that, I had to wash clothes and then I went to the market to buy stuff for dinner.

  • Then I came back home and cooked dinner, which was not easy at all.

  • After that everyone arrived and I made tea for everyone so we could have some time together but everyone was using their phones.

  • Then it was dinner time when my siblings refused to eat what I cooked since they did not like that dish.

  • It was so torturing, then I quickly made eggs for them, and then I washed dishes.

  • This day made me realize that we do not appreciate our mothers enough, they do a lot more work than any of us.

Mumma was away to see her parents and so, I was in charge of the household . My mother's day begins around 5:30 in the morning; so I did the same. Next I filled the bottles with drinking water, opened up the doors and windows and put away the previous day's newspapers.

Once everyone was awake, I swung into action, getting breakfast going and tiffins packed. Soon they headed out, to school and to office. I skipped school that day. Like Mumma, I cleared up the beds and rooms before the maid came in.

I was already told tired to do the dusting part, and so just sat on a sofa, while the maid cleaned up. Then I took a shower and had breakfast with my grandmother. By then I only wanted to hit the bed! But next in line was the laundry and the dishes.

When I was done with all the chores, I sat with Grandma. I didn't have the energy to help her look for things. We then had lunch together. After lunch I ran to take a nap. I knew I had the dishes waiting, but I couldn't wake up!

Though we are grown up enough to handle our own studies, Mumma makes it a point to spend time with both of us. So, I too checked my siblings' homework, school notices and tried to keep tabs on their usage of screens. I totally forgot to remind them to go out to get fresh air and spend time with friends. Soon Daddy came home and I made tea for Grandma and him.

After a light evening snack, followed by dinner, I went off to watch our TV shows, leaving everything in the kitchen undone! I was supposed to wind up everything and prepare for the next day. By bedtime, the kitchen was far from being spic and span, the uniforms weren't ironed and laid out, has towels replaced in the bathrooms and I had no idea what I was going to prepare for the next day's tiffin.

As I headed for the bed, I realised that our lives were smooth because Mumma was taking care of so many aspects. She was actually the one running the show from behind the scene. It is time to help out and also appreciate her every now and then, rather than waiting for Mother's day! In the meantime, the laundry was still out drying under the stars!
