HERE IS THE ANSWER

The narrator was a keen observer . When he was traveling to Pittsburgh by train ,

He observed most of the co passengers were ladies who refused to have the window raised. Then there were men passengers who look totally carefree. The narrator noticed a bald-spotted head in chair no.9 . He also spotted that the Man in chair no. 9 in the train threw a best seller entitled" The Rose Lady and Travelyan" between his chair and window. When he saw the man's face he recognised him . At one glance he recognised his as John A. pescud from Pittsburgh.....
