Vasishta continues the story of Sikhidwaja to Rama in yogavasishta "When Sikhidwaja was in a state of unwavering meditation(Samadhi), Choodala went to the palace and performed her duties. She came back as Kumbha on the third day. The king was still merged in undifferentiated consciousness(nirvikalpa samadhi). She touched the king and thought 'Surely there is little residue of sense quality of virtuousness(satva) in his heart. He can come back from samadhi.'
Rama at this point puts a question to Vasishta "Sage! How can there be residue of sense consciousness in a person whose mind has ceased to function and whose body is as good as a log of wood or lump of earth and who is absorbed in undifferentiated consciousness(nirvikalpa samadhi)?"

Vasishta replies "For a realized person to come back from his samadhi state to sense consciousness, there has to be a residue of  sense consciousness in his heart in an imperceptible and subtle form.

It is similar to saying the fruits and flowers are in a seed in subtle form.
When the mind is unmoving he is in a state of immovable and even state and in such a state the body does not respond to even great enjoyments. The body does neither gets elated nor tired.
If there is no sense consciousness in the body, then, it will perish and dissolve into the five primary elements(earth, water, fire, air and space from which it is made of).
Vasishta continues his story "Choodala quits her body goes into the primary principle of consciousness and caused a movement in the mind of Sikhidwaja and comes back to her body. She again takes the form of Kumbha and starts chanting the melodious verses of Samaveda.
King came back to sense consciousness from his samadhi state and told 'Oh! I am so fortunate the sage has arrived again by himself.'
Kumbha replies 'Though I left, my mind was always here because of you'

King tells ' Oh! It is so fortunate for me that you desire my company.'
Kumbha queries 'I hope you remained in a state of total bliss. I hope you have abandoned the sorrowful world of divisions.'
King tells 'Revered sage! By your favour I am firmly established in that. I have no mental agitation. I am extremely satisfied at all times.'
Thus, both of them remained with a single mind and both were equally happy.
