one day when i soaked some moong dal in water i found some of it floting in the water.what would ne your conclusion regarding the floating seed pls

it swells up and absorbs the water so it can surrounds the seed with moisture while it germinates. Allowing germination to occur.

We conclude that The floating grains may be defective , damaged or eaten by pests. They become hollow and lighter.Such grains cannot germinate. The healthy grains should be settle at the bottom and should be taken for sowing.
