One disadvantage of using Mercury as a themometrical liquid.

Mercury is a very toxic substance .
We are using it in the thermometers but it is very harmful for all of us .

If by chance the thermometer will break and the mercury come in contact with our face or mouth , it will cause a great problem for us .

The person may die .

one disadvantage is that it cant be used too extreme conditions nor too cold conditions under -39 degrees celcius to 357 degrees celcius

like u have probably seen in cartoons like they measure temperature of a character and the thermometer blasts
