let the value of x be 1

Put the value of x in the equation

then it will be,

-5 (1) + 7y = 2

-5 + 7y = 2

7y = 2 + 5

7y = 7

y = 7/7

y = 1

now, let the value of y be 2

put the value in the equation

then it will be,

-5 x + 7 (2) = 2

-5 x + 14 = 2

-5 x = 2/14

-5 x =1/7

x = 1/7÷5

x=1/7 × 5/1

x = 5/7
