yes it is correct that one feels blinded for the short time while coming out of a dark room this is because in our eyes Iris controls the size of pupil and it contracts and expense according to the the availability of light so if we suddenly went into the dark room from a very bright lighted room so we cannot be able to see anything as our eye's Iris was expanding slowly and when it will expanded we will again able to see all the thing clearly.

this is because

  • The visual purple of the rods is bleached,reducing their sensitivity.
  • The pupil constricts(gets narrower),to reduce the amount of light enetering the eyes..
