Answer:

Ramu saved Rs 1800

Solution:

Given that,

Monthly income = Rs 6300

One fifth of rahul expenditure is equal to one half of his saving

Let "x" be the savings amount

Therefore,

\frac{1}{5} \times expenditure = \frac{1}{2} \times saving51×expenditure=21×saving

\begin{gathered}\frac{1}{5} \times expenditure = \frac{1}{2} \times x\\\\expenditure = 2.5x\end{gathered}51×expenditure=21×xexpenditure=2.5x

We know that,

Savings + expenditure = monthly income

\begin{gathered}x + 2.5x = 6300\\\\3.5x = 6300\\\\x = \frac{6300}{3.5}\\\\x = 1800\end{gathered}x+2.5x=63003.5x=6300x=3.56300x=1800

Thus savings is Rs 1800
