The Caribbeans were not in favour of the colonial education system and they proved that it was very a complicated system for them to find out. In the poem " Dan is the Man " English is shown to be a very humorous language in which many similar words may have altogether different meanings. Dan wonders as to why he has to go through so many subjects like Psychology, Biology, Science, etc. Dan could not find any plausible answers to these questions.
