One fourth of a group of people claim they are creative, twice the square root of the group claim to be caring and the remaining 15 claim they are optimistic .find the total number of people in the group ?.how many persons are creative?

One fourth of the group = (x/4)

Given that (2√x) of the group are caring

Number of people claiming optimistic = 15

Squaring on both the sides, we get

 

⇒ 9x2 – 360x – 64x + 3600 = 0

⇒ 9x2 – 424x + 3600 = 0

On solving the quadratic equation we get

x = 36 or x = (100/9)

But x cannot be fraction

Thus number of people in the group is 36.
