let the total number of camels be x

number of camels seen in forest =x/4

number of camels gone to the mountain=2√x

remaining no.of camels seen in bank of river=15

Total no.of camels =x/4+2✓x+15

  • x=x/4+2√x+15
  • 2√x =x-x/4-15
  • 2√x=3x/4-15

squaring both sides

  • 4x=9x^2/16-45x/2-4x+225
  • 9x^2/16-53x/2+225=0
  • 9x^2-424×3600/16=0
  • 9x^2-424x+3600=0
  • 9x(x-36)-100(x-36)
  • (x-36)(9x -100)=0
  • so x=36 or x=100/9
