Let the number be x
Then its successor will be x+1
1/4 x = 1/5(x+1) +3
1/4 x - 3=1/5(x+1)
(x-12)/4=1/5(x+1)
5(x-12)=4(x+1)
5x-60=4x+4
5x-4x=4+60
x=64
