$therefore \: its \: successor \: = x + 1$

Now According to the question ,

$\frac{1}{4} x = 3 + \frac{1}{5} (x + 1)$

$\frac{x}{4} = \frac{15 + x + 1}{5}$

$\frac{x}{4} = \frac{16 + x}{5}$

$5x = 64 + 4x$

$therefore \: x \: = 64$
