Option D is correct that is the birds at nest is 8.

Explanation:-

let the total no of birds are = Y.

the birds at river bank = Y / 4.

The birds at nest = Y / 5.

birds wandering for food are = 22 .

Y = Y / 4 + Y / 5 + 22.

Y = (5Y + 4Y) / 20 + 22.

20Y = 9Y + 440.

11Y = 440.

Y = 40.

Birds at nest = Y / 5.

so,

Birds at nest = 40 / 5.

Birds at nest = 8.
