The number of birds which are in "their nest are 8 birds".

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of birds which are at a river bank =\dfrac{1}{4}x and

the number of birds which are in their nest =\dfrac{1}{5}x

To find, the number of birds which are in their nest = ?

According to question,

Remaining =

x-(\dfrac{1}{4}x+\dfrac{1}{5}x)=22

\dfrac{20x-(5x+4x)}{20}=22

20x-5x-4x=22\times 20=440

11x=440

x=\dfrac{440}{11} =40

∴ The number of birds which are in their nest =\dfrac{1}{5}\times 40

= 8

Hence, the number of birds which are in "their nest are 8 birds".
