Let the total no of birds be x

then,

(x/4)+(x/5)+22=x

(9x/20)+22=x

x-(9x/20)=22

11x/20=22

x=(22*20)/11

x=40

therefore,

total no of birds=40

no of birds in nest=(1/5)*40

=8

hope it helps

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of birds in the nest=x

Than, one fourth of birds are flock at river = x/4

One fifth are in nest =x/5

Remaining birds = 22

Solution–

x/4 +x/5+22 =x

5x+4x+440=20x

440=11x

x=40

Total number of birds =40

The number of birds in nest=40/5=8

So , 8is right answer
