Total birds= 4/4 th part

In the river bank= 1/4 parts

In the nest = 1/5 parts

Wandering in search of food= 4/4 - (1/4 + 1/5) =

4/4 - 9/20

= 20/20 -

9/20

= 11/20 parts

11/ 20 parts = 22 birds.

1/20 parts = 22/11 birds

20/20 parts = 2x 20= 40 birds

No birds in the nest = 1/5 of 40= 8 birds

Answer:Lets take the total number of birds= X

Therefore, Birds are at the riverbank =x/4

Birds are in the nest = x/5

Remaining birds wandering for food=22

According to the question, => x/4+x/5+22=X

=>9x/20+22=X

=>9x+440=20x

=>11x =440

=>x=40

Total number of birds =40

Therefore birds in the nest =x/5

=40/5

=8
