Hi Friend☺️☺️☺️
Question:::
One gram of a chloride was found to contain 0.835g of chlorine.Its vapor density is 85.Calculate its molecular formula
(a)Mcl3(c)Mcl4(b)Mcl2(d)Mcl

Answer:::
Mass of metal chloride =1g
Mass of chlorine =0.835g
Mass of metal =1-0.835
=0.165g
Equivalent mass of metal =0.1650.835×35.5
=7.01
We know that
Valency of metal =2×vapourdensityE+35.5
=2×857.01+35.5
=4
Formula of the metal chloride =Mcl4
