One half of a convex lens is covered with black paper.
(a) Show the formation of image of a object placed at 2F, of such
covered lens with the help of ray diagram. Mention the position and
nature of the image.
(b) Draw the ray diagram for same object at same position in front of

Given :
One half of a convex lens is covered with black paper.
(a) Show the formation of image of a object placed at 2F, of such
covered lens with the help of ray diagram.
In this case, light rays incident on lens will be refracted from the upper part of lens . These rays will meet at other side of the lens to form a image.
Nature of image :
Object is placed at 2F. we get image at 2F
---> of same size
---> real and inverted.
2] Refer attachment for ray diagram
In Both cases Complete image will be formed but intensity of the image will be reduced as the light falling on the lower portion will not reach the position of image.
