One hockey player has a mass of 50 kg was moving with a velocity of 5 metre per second -1 and other player of mass 60 kg moves towards with him with a velocity of 6 metre per second-1 while playing the clyde and get entangled with what velocity and in which direction will they move after collision ignore friction

Here we have to use the conservation of linear momentum

Initial momentum = Final momentum

Given that,

Mass of first player = 50kg

Mass of second player = 60kg

Velocity of first player = 5m/s

Velocity of second player = -6m/s   (Moving in opposite direction)

From conservation of linear momentum,

m₁u₁ + m₂u₂ = MV

Since they get entangled they are considered as a single mass of M and moving with velocity V

50*5 - 60*6 = (50+60)V

250 - 360 = 110V

110V = -110

V = -110/110

V = -1m/s

Hence both players will move in the directon of the player moving with 6m/s with a velocity of 1ms
