There is a queen, workers and drones in a bee hive.the queen is only one and it lays 800-1200 eggs per day.the life span of the queen is 2-3 years.workers are sterile females ( no possibility of reproduction ) which help by attending indoor activities like secretion of royal jelly and feeding the brood (newborns) .After 3 weeks, they collect honey from outdoors.the drone helps the queen in reproduction. After the process of mating, the drone bursts out.the queen uses the cells of drone which are needed for reproduction.
