One idea that has been shared by the Mayflower Compact and the Declaration of Independence was that all men are free and that they are ruled by the God and not the King of England.  

Explanation:

When the English Colony was set up in America a large number of middle class English class migrated to America they were generally known as the Puritans. These Puritans tried to escape the conservative England of that time and America seemed to them as a land of opportunities and new beginnings.

But, before leaving for America they signed a Mayflower Compact which said that they are only governed by God himself and not by the King of England, that all men are equal and should be treated equally, only God is above them all. This idea influenced the Constitution makers and they took it to make that all men are equal and should be treated equally.
