One is asked to say three digit number what is the probability that
(a) all the digits of the number are same?
(b) the number is a multiple of 6?

The possible 3 digit numbers divisible by 6 are 102,108… till 996. They are total number n given by 102+(n-1)×6=996=> 6(n-1)=996–102=894=> n-1=894/6=149 or n=149+1=150. So total no of 3 digit numbers are (999–100)+1=900. So probability of finding the multiple of 6 is (150/900]=(1/6)=0.1667 .
