Given-

One liter of water of 40 degree is mixed one liter of water at 60 degree

Calcullation

One liter of water at 40 degree is mixed with one liter of water at 60 degree

volume of both are same

Heat will transfer from higher temperature water to lower temperature water

means from 60 degree to 40 degree

Hence 60 degree temperature will decrease because of heat transfer to 40 degree

And 40 degree temperature will increase

temperature will between 40 degree to 60 degree

One litre of 40° water and one litre of 60° water are combined.

The combination will be between 40 and 60 degrees in temperature.
