One litre of water is added to 10 litres of a 40% solution of alcohol in water. What is the final strength of the alcohol.

40% of alcohol in 10L soln is = 4L of Alcohol and 6L of Water.

1L water is added in Total soln.

Therefore total soln= 11L

Strength of alcohol = 4/11*100= 36.36%
