One litre of water is evaporated from a 6 litre solution cointaining 4%sugar. Find the percentage of sugar from the remaining solution.​

6 Litres of sugar solution contains 4% of sugar.

i.e. \frac{4}{100}  \times 6litres of sugar or 0.24 litres of sugar and 5.76 litres of water.

if one liter of water is evaporated, then there is 0.24 litre of sugar in 5 litres of water.

Percentage of sugar in the solution

 = ( \frac{0.24}{5}  \times 100)\%

 = 4.8\%
