The ratio of the strengths of milk in two mixtures is 11:8.

Step-by-step explanation:

For the first type of mixture:

A man adds 6 litres of water to 11 litres of milk

So, the ratio of water to milk in the first mixture becomes = 6:11

The part of the milk in the first type of mixture = \frac{11}{6+11} = \frac{11}{17}

For the second type of mixture:

The man adds 9 litres of water to 8 litres of milk

So, the ratio of water to milk in the second mixture becomes = 9:8

The part of the milk in the second type of mixture = \frac{8}{9+8} = \frac{8}{17}

Thus,

The ratio of the strengths of the milk in two the mixtures is given by,

= [part of the milk in the first type of mixture] / [part of the milk in the second type of mixture]

= \frac{11}{17} : \frac{8}{17}

= 11:8
