Since he went there every day no matter what the climate was, everyone started to make fun of him.

But soon he became very weak and couldn't come to the post office. He knew that his end was near. He desperately wanted to see the letter from his daughter during his lifetime.
That is why it is said that he lost his patience.

But still he knew he would surely get his letter from his daughter but not sure whether it was during his lifetime!
