Answer:

Yes, one method of separation is not enough because we generally get solutions that contain different elements mixed in them.

Ex- salt + sand + water

= here, we have an insoluble and soluble element in a single solvent. So, filtration/sedimentation and evaporation techniques will be used to separate all the components from each other of the solution.

One method of separation is not enough because the method of separation depends on the type of substances which have to be separated.

- Sublimation is used to separate sublime compounds from non-sublime impurities.

- For example: The mixture of camphor (sublime) and sodium chloride ( non-sublime) can be separated by the process of sublimation.

- Crystallisation is used to separate out the solid organic compounds based on the difference of solubilities of the compound and the impurities.

- For example, the salt obtained from sea water have many impurities in it. To remove these impurities, crystallisation process is used.

- Distillation is used to separate the volatile liquids from the non- volatile compounds.

- For example, various forms of fuel, such as gasoline, etc., are separated from crude oil by using distillation method

- Chromatography can also be used to separate chemical mixtures.

- For example, biomolecules like proteins can be separated by this method
