The value of x is 1.

Given: One mole of He gas changes its state from (10 atm, 100 K) to (1 atm, 1000 K). Then change in entropy (∆S) will be 2.303 x cal.

To find: We have to find the value of x.

Solution:

The formula of change in entropy is given as-

∆S=2.303nRlog(P1/P2)

Here ∆S is the change in entropy which is equal to 2.303x Cal.

R us Rydberg constant having value 2cal.

n is the number of moles equal to 1 mole.

P1 is 10atm and P2 is 1atm.

Thus we can write-

2.303x=2.303×1×2×log(10)

x=1.

Thus, the value of x is 1.
