Answer:

W= -7.76 atm.Lt

Explanation:

Given that

V₁= 22.4 lt

P₁= 1 atm

V₂=11.2 lt

Given that compression is isothermal.

 For isothermal process

 P₁V₁=P₂V₂

The work done in isothermal process

W=P_1V_2\ln \dfrac{V_2}{V_1}

Now by putting the values

W=P_1V_2\ln \dfrac{V_2}{V_1}

W=1 \times 11.2\ln \dfrac{11.2}{22.4}

W= -7.76 atm.Lt
