It is true that Bishop's concern for the convict was nothing but a reflection of his own belief. The Bishop treated the convict with love and kindness . He provided the convict with the food and also arranged for sleep. He even saved the convict from the police though the convict was an offender. Thus he proved in drama  that he did a great deal for the devil in order to do a little for god.
