One no is twice another no. If 15 is subtracted from both no.,then one of the new no became thrice that of the other new no. Find the no.

x = 2y

x-2y = 0 ---(i)

x-15 = 3(y-15)

x-15 = 3y-45

x-3y = -30 ---(ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii)

-y = -30

y = 30

x = 2y

x = 2(30) = 60
