21

Answer :-

The required numbers are 31 and 21.

Solution :-

Sum of two numbers = 52

Let the other number be x

One of the number = 10 more than the other number = x + 10

According to the question :-

⇒ x + 10 + x = 52

⇒ 2x + 10 = 52

Transpose 10 to RHS

⇒ 2x = 52 - 10

⇒ 2x = 42

Transpose 2 to RHS

⇒ x = 42/2

⇒ x = 21

Another number = x = 21

One of the number = x + 10 = 21 + 10 = 31

Therefore the required numbers are 31 and 21.

Verification :-

Let us check

x + 10 + x = 52

Substitute x = 21 and x + 10 = 31 in the above equation

⇒ 31 + 21 = 52

⇒ 52 = 52
