One number is 3 times another number. If 15 is added to both the numbers the

X+15 = 2Y+30

X =2Y+30-15

X=2Y+15

from equation 1,

3Y = 2Y+15

3Y-2Y=15

Y=15

substitute Y=15 in equation 1

X=3(15)

X = 45

therefore the numbers are 45,15
