One number is 4 less than 3 times another number.If there sum is increased by 5 , there result is 25 .Find the number?

x=3y-4 -----eq1
x+y+5=25----eq2

solving these two equations.
putting eq1 in eq2
3y-4+y-5=25
4y=34
y=8.5
