question:one number is 4 times the other number if 6 added to the smaller number and 4 is added to the larger number then the letter number becomes twice the other number find the numbers

answer:

let smallest number

 = x

let other number

 = y

here \: y = 4x

x + 6 =2 (4 + y)

finding the value of x and y

finding \:  the \:  value \:  of \: x \div  \\ y = 4x \\  =  > 4y = x \\  =  > 4 =  \frac{x}{y }  \\   = >  \frac{4}{1} =  \frac{x}{y} \\  =  > x = 4 \: and \: y = 1

other way for finding the value of x and y

x + 6 = 2(4 + y) \\  =  >  \frac{x + 6}{2}  = 4 + y \\  =  >  \frac{x}{2} + 3 = 4 + y \\  =  >  x = 2 \: and \: y = 3

the answer of two methods is wrong it means your question is wrong
