so, the greatest number will be 5x (it is shown that one number is 5 times greater than other)

8 is subtracted from greater number I.e. 5x- 8

and it is equal to 3 times smaller number I.e.

5x- 8=3x

5x-3x= 8

2x= 8

x= 8/2

x= 4

x is smaller number

so smaller number is 4.

now to get bigger number multiply 5 times 4 I.e. 5×4=20

small number is 4

big number is 20.
